General

  1. This policy applies to your use of the website at :www.taro.co.il (the "Website") of Taro Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. including its subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively, "Taro", the "Company", “We”).
  2. In this Privacy Policy words which are in the masculine gender shall be deemed to include the feminine gender, and vice versa.
  3. This English version of the Privacy Policy is provided for your convenience.  Should there be any inconsistency or conflict between the English and Hebrew versions of the Policy, the Hebrew version shall prevail.
  4. This Privacy Policy describes Taro’s practices regarding the collection, use and disclosure of the personal information Taro collects from and relating to you when you use the Website.This policy applies to information relating to you and is subject to the provisions of the Privacy Protection Law, 5741-1982 ("Personal Information," the "Privacy Protection Law" respectively).  
  5. The use of the Website indicates your consent to this Privacy Policy, and therefore you are  required to read this policy carefully, together with the  Website Terms of Use, as this document constitutes an integral and  inseparable part of the Terms of Use.
  6. This policy applies to all uses of the Website, including:
  • When you use the Website, whether for the purpose of reporting side effects or while browsing the Website, by using  your computer, mobile device, or any other device  you use.
  • When you fill out a form on the Website (such as a contact form, a side effects reporting form), which includes entering your Personal Information.
  • Exchanging other electronic messages between you and the Company, including e-mails and any other communications between you and the Company.

         If you are not satisfied with any aspect of this Privacy Policy, please stop using the Website and the relevant services.

  1.  Please note: You are not obligated by law to provide the Company with any Personal Information. However, without providing the said information, you will not be able to receive some of the services provided by the Company in the  Website, which require filling out a form that includes entering personal information. You hereby acknowledge and agree that you are providing us with Personal Information at your own free will, for the purposes set forth in this Policy, and that we may retain such information in accordance with this Policy and the provisions of applicable law. Providing such details about you constitutes a statement on your part as to their correctness.
  2. Taro clarifies that the following Privacy Policy may change from time to time and at its discretion, as the Privacy Policy is dynamic and may change as new content and services that can also affect the policy are added. Therefore, Taro recommends that you periodically repeat and review this Privacy Policy. To the extent that significant changes are made in relation to the use of Personal Information, a notice will be published on the relevant websites. Please pay attention to these changes, as they apply to you.
  3. This document was written  based on the relevant law at the time of writing thereof and  Taro shall perform everything in its power to adapt the policy to legislative changes in the field. It is clarified that this Privacy Policy does not intend to allow Taro to perform actions prohibited by law.

 Entering Personal Information

  1. For the purpose of reporting side effects  through the  Website, you will be asked to fill out a form that includes Personal Information about you that may  disclose health information or other sensitive information about you, such as your full name, email address, phone number, name of the  medicinal product and description of the phenomenon. 
  2. When filling out a "Contact Us" form on the Website, you will be asked to enter Personal Information about you such as your full name, profession, address, e-mail address, phone number, and comments – which may disclose health or other sensitive information about you. 

The information Taro collects in the Website

  1. Information you provide to us or that will be collected by us may be stored in Taro's databases.Taro may retain the information about you for as long as necessary in order to fulfill the purposes of use of the information outlined in this Policy or for a longer period of time as required or permitted in accordance with the applicable law.

Information you will provide us

  1. When you communicate with us by phone, email, or otherwise, or  by a form  on the Website, you may provide us with personally identifiable information. We may monitor and record emails and any communications between you and Company representatives.
  2.  As said, you are not required by law to provide the information, however without providing it, you might not be able to use certain services and   Taro will not be able to provide you those services. 
  3. You acknowledge and agree that the information provided to Taro will be retained in the Company's databases.

Information  we collect automatically

  1. We automatically collect personal and aggregated statistical information related to your use of the Website, including in one or more of the following ways:

· When you visit and use the Website, we may collect information about your visit. This information may include information about the computer location and the IP address you used to access the Website, your operating system, your browser ID, location data, browser type, domain names, language settings, and other information about your use of the Website such as information or advertisements you have read, pages and products you viewed, offers and services you  were interested in, and how you interact with our Website. We may collect this information by using cookies, log files, and other tracking technologies. The above information is used by Taro for analysis, control, supervision and  lesson learning.

· We may use third party services, including Google Analytics, to collect and analyze Personal Information relating to your activity on the Website as well as anonymous, statistical, or aggregated information in connection with such use, including for the purpose of analyzing the traffic to the Website.

Using the information

  1.  We will use the Personal Information we collect only in accordance with this Privacy Policy and the provisions of applicable law, including for the following purposes:
  • To enable you to use the Website, notably when you contact us;
  • In the event that you submit a report on side effects, the information you submit will be used for the purpose of  tracking, controlling and monitoring the side effects of the Company's  medicinal products and subject to the procedures of the Ministry of Health;
  • For the proper operation and development of the Website;
  • To improve and enrich the content offered  on the Website;
  • To protect Taro's rights and legitimate interests, including fraud prevention, protection of the Website security, and handling any other issue in connection with the Website and the services;
  • For the purpose of defending in any dispute, claim, lawsuit, demand or legal proceedings, if any, between you and Taro and/or anyone acting on its behalf;
  • For the purpose of processing operations  for de-identification, including the anonymization of personal information and its conversion into non-identifying information, for research and statistics purposes.
  • For any other purpose set forth in this Privacy Policy or the Terms of Use.

Providing Personal Information to third parties

  1. Taro is commited to maintain its databases in accordance with the Privacy Protection Law, and will not transfer your personally identifiable information to third parties except in the cases listed below:
  • In order to provide you the services and manage your Personal Information,  we may share your data with our service providers (including their subcontractors), such as: cloud computing platforms and hosting providers (in Israel or abroad), support and website enhancement service providers, and more;
  • In case of reporting side effects, the information you report will be transferred to the Company's global database of side effects for  tracking, controlling, and monitoring the Company's products, and will also be transferred to the Ministry of Health as aggregated information that does not identify you;
  • In the event that you violate the Website Terms of Use, including for the purpose of investigating potential violations;
  • In the event that you perform or attempt to perform through or in connection with the Website actions that appear to be unlawful;
  • If Taro receives a judicial order or an order from another competent authority, instructing it to provide your details or information about you to a third party;
  • In any dispute, claim, lawsuit, demand, or legal proceedings, if any, between you and Taro and/or anyone acting on its behalf;
  • In any case in which the provision of the information, at Taro's sole discretion, is necessary to prevent serious damage to your body or property or to prevent serious damage to the body of a third party;
  • To the extent that Taro organizes its activity within the framework of another corporation, and in the event of a merger with another entity, merger or transfer of the Website's activity or the services or part thereof with the activity of a third party, Taro shall be entitled to transfer to the new corporation a copy of the Personal Information collected about you as well as any statistical information, provided that such corporation accepts the provisions of this Privacy Policy.

You confirm and agree that the transfer of such Personal Information may include transfer outside the borders of the State of Israel, including to countries where the laws on processing Personal Information may be less stringent than in your country, in accordance with the provisions of the applicable law.

  1. Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that are transferred to and stored on your device through your web browser for record-keeping purposes.   1. Taro will  keep the information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes of use of the information set forth in this Privacy Policy or as long as required or permitted by law, or as necessary to protect the rights and legitimate interests of the Company, whichever is longer

Information security

  1. Taro implements advanced security measures to secure the information on the Website and the services. These security measures are designed to reduce the risks of unauthorized  access  to Taro's databases. However, these measures do not provide absolute information security. Therefore, Taro does not guarantee that the databases will be completely immune from unauthorized access and misuse of the information stored  therein.
  2. By using the Website and the services you declare that you will have no claim and/or demand and/or suit against Taro and/or anyone acting on its behalf in consequence of penetration, intrusions, malfunctions and/or any disruptions to the Company's databases, provided that the aforesaid was not under Taro's control and that Taro made reasonable efforts to prevent the events.

Link to third-party websites

  1. The Website may include links and references to external services and websites (e.g. related websites of group members) that are outside the Company's control and are not covered by this Privacy Policy. The Company recommends that you review the aforementioned privacy policy of these websites and services yourself. 

Use of the Website by minors

  1. The Website is not intended for use by users under eighteen (18) years of age. By using the Website you declare and warrant that you are not a minor.

Right to inspect and correct information

  1. Under the Privacy Protection Law, any person is entitled to inspect and access the Personal Information about him held in a database. A person who inspected the information about him and found that it is incorrect, incomplete, or unclear or outdated, may contact the database owner and request to correct or delete the information. Please note that the right  of inspection is subject to the provisions of the law and the rights of others other than you. As part of the query, you are required to specify identification information that will be required from you in order to identify you.

Amendments

  1. Taro may  amend the Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated version of the Policy will be published on the Website and  shall  become binding as of its publication date.
